Neurodata Without Borders (NWB) User Training Workshop

Neurodata Without Borders (NWB) User Training Workshop

Organizers: Ben Dichter, Ryan Ly and Oliver Ruebel

Dates: 25 Aug - 27 Aug 2021
Time: 12:00-17:00 EDT / 18:00-23:00 CEST
Target audience: This workshop is intended for neurophysiologists looking for a standardized way to describe and store neurophysiology data and metadata. Familiarity with Python or MATLAB is expected.
Registration deadline: 19 August 2021
Register for this session: CLOSED
Maximum participants: N/A

About this workshop
The purpose of the NWB User Days training workshops is to bring the experimental neurophysiology community together to further the adoption and development of NWB, the NWB software libraries, and scientific workflows that rely on NWB. NWB developers will guide participants through Python and MATLAB-based tutorials on how to read data in NWB, write data in NWB, and use community tools for analysis and visualization. Participants will develop scripts to convert their own data to NWB, exchange ideas and best practices, and discuss common needs. NWB developers will be accessible for one-on-one help throughout the workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring a dataset that they would like to convert to NWB or find a published dataset on DANDI to analyze.

About NWB
Neurodata Without Borders (NWB) is an effort to standardize the description and storage of neurophysiology data and metadata. NWB, an INCF endorsed standard, enables data sharing and reuse and reduces the energy barrier to applying data analysis both within and across labs. Several laboratories, including the Allen Institute for Brain Science, have wholeheartedly adopted NWB, and the DANDI archive allows researchers to publish and share NWB data. The community needs to join forces to achieve data standardization in neurophysiology. Learn more about NWB.
