3 December 2024This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising money to keep our training resources open and free to the global neuroscience community.
Neuroscience research takes a lot of time and money. One way to speed things up is by reusing data, pooling resources, and sharing tools. This can help make discoveries faster and allow us to understand the brain and its diseases more clearly.
INCF enables this neuroscience data sharing through the implementation of open science standards and best practices, and ensures impact through training and advocacy. We have developed the INCF TrainingStuite, a collection of educational open access platforms where we provide free training in data management, neuroinformatics, implementation of standards and best practices to researchers all over the world.
The INCF Training Suite currently consists of TrainingSpace, Neurostars and KnowledgeSpace. These platforms provides users with access to:
- Multimedia educational content from courses, conference lectures, and laboratory exercises from some of the world’s leading neuroscience institutes and societies
- Study tracks to facilitate self-guided study
- Tutorials on tools and open science resources for neuroscience research
- A Q&A forum
- A data discoverability portal and encyclopedia that provides users with thousands of publicly available neuroscience datasets and abstracts in PubMed
Neurostars is, as the name suggests, the star of the platforms. It connects students with teachers and mentors and has shown to be a very useful tool in the learning process. Neurostars has over 550 users logging in every day from all over the world!
