The INCF will hold a two-day Software Carpentry workshop right before Neuroscience 2017

Software Carpentry is a volunteer-driven organization that teaches researchers about computing. This hands-on workshop for neuroscientists will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, data management, and task automation. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.

  • the Unix shell
  • version control with git/Github
  • programming with Python
