Program on Ontologies of Neural Structures

Controlled vocabularies are necessary for the useful and practical sharing and re-use of data. Ontologies in neuroscience are formal representations of the set of terms used within a domain area of research and the relationships between the terms. Working closely with the Programs on Digital Atlasing and Datasharing Standards, the Program on Ontologies of Neural Structures (PONS) will establish a structured lexicon for the translation and definition of terms describing neural structures at multiple levels of granularity.

More information about the program, including its working pages, is available here.
