Representation and Deployment Task Force (RDTF)
This Task Force provides support for the representation, curation, and deployment infrastructure of efforts related to the Program, and will ultimately be responsible for establishing the formal ontology based on the efforts of the other two task forces.
This Task Force's initial focus is on the representation of neurons and brain anatomy. The logical ontology formalism will be based on the evolving OBO foundry approach, a collaboration of science-based ontology developers who have established a set of principles for ontology development for interoperable reference ontologies in the biomedical domain, and will use OWL as a basis, adopting other technologies used within foundry projects as needed. For collaboration with and dissemination to scientists, a wiki format is currently being used.
