INCF Allen Brain Atlas Mirror Site
|
The Allen Brain Atlas is an open access, genome-wide image database that maps gene expression throughout the adult mouse brain. The atlas and associated data visualization and mining tools are freely available through an integrated Web service to encourage widespread use and collaboration. The mirror server is synchronized with the main server in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A., so that it presents an exact replica of the main site, serving identical content at all times. Users of the Allen Brain Atlas are automatically directed by a load balancer to the main server or the mirror server depending on factors such as current load, availability, network performance, etc., so to ensure the highest quality of service for the end-user. The purpose of the mirror site is to enhance the quality of service for all users of the Allen Brain Atlas. The INCF mirror was launched in March 2008 under a partnership agreement between the INCF Secretariat and the Allen Institute for Brain Science. The Allen Brain Atlas is publicly available free of charge on www.brain-map.org Press release March 17, 2008 [pdf]
