Representation and Deployment Task Force (RDTF)
This group is responsible for the infrastructure of representation, curation, and deployment for the program.
The group will investigate potential options (including NIF, Wikipedia, and resources within the INCF network) and pursue the appropriate resources to implement needed infrastructure. They will work closely with the task forces of domain expert to define ways of curating knowledge that both are accessible to biologists and can be translated to formal representations. In addition, they shall coordinate with technical groups that may wish to programmatically access the resources developed in PONS, for example, atlasing and electrophysiology groups. The initial focus will be representing neurons and anatomy of the brain, working with the corresponding PONS task forces.
The ontology logical formalism will be based on the evolving OBO foundry approach and use OWL as a basis, possibly adopting other technologies used within foundry projects. For collaboration and dissemination to biologists, a wiki approach will be employed, with assessment and improvement of its efficacy as needed.
