What is the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility?
The INCF is a professional organization devoted to advancing the field of neuroinformatics. One of its aims is to develop an international neuroinformatics infrastructure, which promotes the sharing of data and computing resources to the international research community. What is Neuroinformatics?
Neuroinformatics is a research field that encompasses the organization of neuroscience data and application of computational models and analytical tools.
How is the INCF funded?
INCF is funded by contributions from its member countries and the US National Science Foundation (NSF).
What is the purpose of the INCF?
The vision of the INCF is to catalyze and coordinate the global development of neuroinformatics in the scientific community.
INCF has as its mission to foster scientific interaction through information flow within its global network; valuating neuroinformatics activities and infrastructures; and to facilitate training in neuroinformatics.
INCF has also identified its values, which include openness, neutrality and stability.
INCF aims to implement its Vision, Mission and Values through:
- Our Core Activites: INCF Programs, Workshops and the annual Neuroinformatics Congress
- Creating a worldwide network of people: The Neuroinformatics People Directory
- A web portal in order to make resources easily accessible. The portal contains community developed Research tools, and Neuroinformatics related Events, Training, Funding and Jobs
